NEW!!! SC-1 Mic Preamp Kit
Status: Under Development:

June 3, 2007

I just realized, I haven't posted photos of the latest Rev 4 PCB built.

So here you go, connected to the PSU, powered by a toroid transformer. Happy to say that at even this close distance to the trafo, I didn't hear any increase in hum or noise.

There is one capacitor that is laid on it's side on the SC-1 PCB. This is so to make the PCB fit in a 1u rack. If you're planning on using a 2u rack, you can solder the caps standing up.

Also shown are heatsinks on the TO-220 regulators. They get barely warm. As soon as you touch it, the heat just dissipates into your fingers. All good!

We've come a long way from our 1st prototype design. Looking back, all the little mistakes that happened along the way turn out for the better, as this allowed me to refine the design on each revision and fix those little buggers, add features, etc. The final PCB is bigger than what we started with, and also jam-packed with more components.
